First stop: Aberdeen Science Centre

Aberdeen Science Centre is brilliant for children who like to get involved rather than just look. There’s so much for them to build, press, throw and wind, with hands-on activities for lots of different ages.

There’s a dedicated toddler area with a large train set, which is always popular with Ozzie. They also run regular interactive workshops, with activities like standing inside a giant bubble.

Children under three go free, and the Science Centre offers reduced entry rates at certain times during the week. They also run blocks of Curious Toddlers classes throughout the year, which are worth keeping an eye out for.

Next stop: Lunch on the Big Red Bus

There’s a lovely café inside the Science Centre, but if you fancy something a bit different, the Big Red Bus is only a short walk away.

The bus looks out across the sea and Ozzie loved climbing aboard and eating his lunch there. It makes a fun extra stop after spending the morning exploring the Science Centre.

Don’t miss

Make time for the outdoor sensory garden. It’s a lovely space for children to explore, with interactive features and lots of hidden treasure to dig for.

Why we love it

There’s so much to see and do for different ages, and plenty to keep littles busy. You could easily spend most of the day here, especially if you stop for lunch and explore the sensory garden too.

It’s educational without feeling like it - Ozzie is simply having fun pressing buttons, building things, experimenting and getting stuck into everything.
